What started as a hobby has grown into a way of life. When deciding to take this path the intention was to produce the highest quality, best tasing hot sauce around. Never has a day gone by that has completely adhered to plan. However, new products have come into the mix, new flavors have been developed and customers have been delighted from far and wide. We look forward to you enjoying Kussin’ Katies products and following us on this journey. 

Nestled in the quaint town of Mulberry Grove, IL you will find the farm. This is where the earth nourishes all varieties of peppers, herbs, tomatoes that will become Kussin’ Katies Hot Sauce and so many other flavorful products. Grown naturally and never using chemicals, each plant is carefully raised from seed and cared for each season until ripened to perfection before picking. The care for each plant is such that all ingredients are hand-picked to ensure selecting only the best of the harvest. 

Matt James, Founder and Blend Master of the Kussin’ Katies label started young. Working on local farms through high school he learned the ins-and-outs of the farming trade. All the while he was developing a taste for spice and flavorful cooking. After his high school career James served his country as a Marine. In what little free time, he had was spent whipping up batches of hot sauce for his fellow leather necks.  

 Who is Kussin’ Katie? After returning home from service Matt spent time with family. Matt’s Aunt Katie was very excited to see that her nephew had taken such an interest in both cooking and seasoning. She watched as he worked with determination to finding just the right flavor for his hot sauce. As a loving Aunt would Katie volunteered to try a sample even though she was told it was very hot. “How hot could it be?” she said. Seconds later sweet Aunt Katie was swearing like a sailor.
